Raising A Puppy The Right Way

By Manny Rutz

Acquiring a puppy is like accepting a new member to our family, which is why we must make sure we treat our new family member and teach them the proper things in life. A dog can be aggressive, sometimes it can be shy or even playful but one thing is for sure. The behavior of a dog is directly related to the environment they grew up in as a puppy. This is what we are going to talk about in this article about growing your dog without fears.

Before you do anything or walk your dog out for the first time it's important that you vaccinate your puppy. A non vaccinated puppy can attract diseases and viruses that can be transmitted from other animals and even other dogs while walking outside. Prevention of diseases and viruses is the first step to healthy dog and the best way to avoid future health problems.

We recommend starting early when it comes to teaching your puppy all the different things, noises and places that might frightened your dog. If your dog has never seen a car or another dog or heard a certain noise it might be these unfamiliar things that can create fears to your dog. Exploring is a great way to get your puppy to get used to unknown noises and things.

In its first months of life we must encourage socialization. We recommend visiting different sites. Training can be done one day at a time. For example one day taking your dog on a car ride, another day among many people, another day among other animals and so on. When you reach this well-socialized adult dog your dog will be without fears, psychologically will live a more comfortable life and be more willing to play, learn and interact with its owner.

Keep in mind that training your dog, especially as a puppy takes time. You must have a patience, keep in mind there are those who are unable to take care of their dogs because they don't have the time or don't want the responsibility. You should only have a puppy if you can provide a positive environment and have the time and resources to make sure that dog becomes more than just a pet in your family.
