By Stacey Burt

A names is, according to latest scientific research, a verbal access index on an amount of information about an individual. Names are thus a person, an object, an organizational unit (eg. As a company) or a term associated information are intended to identify and individualization (name popularity).

With the scientific study of names is concerned onomastics. It is divided in names of science, the history, usage and etymology explains names, and names oforetical research that deals with the question: What's in a names? Names theory thus deals with the main meaning of denotation of names, while names of science, concerned about the denotation addition, with the connotation of names.

There are also Hodonyme that can be counted among the Makrotoponymen, about Appian Way for the Roman highway or burners highway and railway routes as Trans-Siberian Railway. Before the French style house numbers were introduced in 18th century, the house and farm names were a key differentiator in cities. They divided the city into quarters and separate them from the suburbs and villages. Above all, the public buildings were given titles, as well as department stores and tenements with the appropriate standard. After the Second World War, the use of domestic and farm names fell sharply and is common only in very rural, less densely populated areas.

Names are in Judaism more than words, the same goes for names of God. His "generic" is Elohim, his "Eigenames" is YHWH - also called Tetragrammaton - that was with Yahweh or rarely vocalized and later with Jehovah. The Hebrew consonantal script had no vowels, only the Masoretes added vowel inserted in middle ages. So YHWH is actually untranslatable because there is no names, no thought, no substance or existence. The most central importance is generally'm using I or I'm reproduced and points to ineffability, inexplicable and inscrutability of God. YHWH was first used in Genesis 4:26, Moses in burning bush in desert disclosed (Exodus 3, 14) and is 6,823 in Hebrew Bible.

From awe and reverence before YHWH, his greatness and holiness YHWH was not pronounced by the Jews after the Babylonian captivity, instead (my Lord) and today ha-Shem (names), ha-makom (the other place were adonay or other side) or adoschem (combination of words of Mr. And names) needed. The personal names include names of individuals (first names and surnames). People's names and tribal names are not proper names, but generic names.

After Peter von Polenz the room names be divided into natural spatial and political entities. The former include landscapes and sites, the latter firmly circumscribed spaces (county and country names). Already in ancient times tribal names were used as a room names. For example, the names of Saxony was born of same strain. The same applies to Bavaria, Thuringia, Hesse and Holstein.

The Roman names consisting of up to three elements and were divided into first names (praenomen), family names (noun Gentile) and surnames (agnomen, or cognomen). The latter was of great importance, because the ancient Romans had very few names to choose from and clan names were a privilege of upper classes. The various names systems and the legal regulations are applicable are listed in.:

The place names research is concerned specifically with the structures, the creation, change and the loss of settlement terms. It does so before diachronically by starting collects from the current place names form and supporting documents by means of which attempts to reconstruct the original names. Based on this basic shape of etymology of names can be determined. A distinction is made according to mode of formation of places and linguistic backgrounds.
