One of the most challenge part about being a pet owner is when your pet gets injured. Often, those would mean that he will have to be treated by the vet and in some cases, some stitches will be even necessary to patch him up. Pets tend to have this habit of licking their wounds though. So, many vets would recommend attaching a collar to them that prevents them from reaching the injured area.

This can be a challenge though especially since these pets do tend to lick their wounds. Though they might find this a good idea to keep the area clean, this can cause issues along the way. Considering how the pet is not able to access the area where the wound is located he cannot just go ahead and lick it off. Thus, he will not risk opening up the stitches and as a result, he gets to have a higher chance towards healing faster. Still, the cone can be a real discomfort to the pet.

A good choice would be to use neck pillows, the ones that are being blown up. These are the same ones that may passengers tend to use to cushion their neck to avoid straining it too much in a long flight. To use this, you are going to need to have some sort of fastener so when you tuck it in the neck of your pet, it stays in place.

There are stuff that are made of paper too. These are very popular among a lot of people especially since they do not have to find some fancy stuff that they can use for the same purpose. It is advised that you go for a very durable paper though. Then, they would not easily get damaged especially if the pet has a tendency to be a little too hyperactive.

Other choices also include bandages, boxer shorts or those baby onesies. Bandages can be used to ensure that the wound is properly covered. This will help prevent the pet from reaching out to the area and licking it. Thus, you are confident that the would will not be reopened.
