Your Pet Deserves A Celebration

By Arty Carylyman

Whenever I tell this particular matter to friends and strangers, they look at me with a weird look. Well, it's to be expected since what I tell them is weird. It's something that goes beyond what is accepted and what is common. Sure, you tell people that your dog can do tricks but it's not really unique since all dogs can do that. You tell people your dog can bark on command but it's not really amazing since all dogs can add 1 + 2 with a few barks. But they've probably never heard of this particular matter I tell them all the time: my dog is a vegetarian.

"Wait, wait..." you might ask. "Why is this a good reason?" The reason a cat's independence is a good reason for owning a cat is because in many ways, you don't have to take care of it frequently. When you have a dog, you'll be grooming the dog, you'll be teaching the dog and you'll be doing things to keep it in line. Cats on the other hand are independent. You can have them in your house and they'll just purr their own way. You can still feed them of course but you let them you are their owner and caretaker. You can relax knowing you don't have to give those baths.

As mentioned in the last sentence, you don't have to give cats baths. They clean themselves. So there's no need for you to get your garden hose to water them down. You can rest assured they're as clean as a newly-minted car just doing sessions of licking themselves clean. Hairballs included. You think cats aren't the love-showing animals dogs are? You're wrong, future pet owner. Cats are actually comforting animals. It's just they show their love to their companions in a subtle way. Whether you're feeling blue after a break up or maybe you just had a bad day at work, cats come to the rescue and cuddle.

That's when I realized: my dog is a vegetarian. I tried all kinds of veggies--- lettuces, beans, eggplants, etc. --- and she ate them with joy. So I used these veggies as dog treat alternatives. She still ate the usual dog food of course but when it came to her treats, she loved her veggies. When she did a trick like maybe doing a "beg" command, I would pluck out a piece of any veggie in my hand and let her have it as a reward. It's a weird thing to see a dog who I assume was a meat-love turn out to be a vegetable-lover.

So there you go, future pet owner. These are the reasons to own a cat. You get health boosts, you don't have to do constant caretaking and it will help with the rodent problems so what more could you ask more? It's time to get your cat today.
