How Helpful If An Online CPR Certification

By Enid Hinton

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is one first aid skill that people should have in order to prevent many deaths that occur due to a cardiac arrest. When the heart stops beating, there are few minutes left to help that person survive. With an online CPR certification, it equips you with the skill needed to handle an emergency where someone stops breathing or is choked.

Accidents can occur anywhere whether at home, in workplaces, or in buses when traveling. If there is no one with the first aid skill to help resuscitate a patient, then it may be a case of life and death. The first few minutes when someone experiences a cardiac arrest are very crucial to the survival of the person.

It is that time when you discover how helpful the training can be to the patients. You can make someone survive death by just performing the simple procedures. It is very painful to lose lives when you could have helped to save them. Accidents can happen in workplaces and you find that there is no other person who can administer CPR.

If you have the skill or training but you cannot put it into practice, it may remain irrelevant and of not help. Many a times, when accidents occur, people even those with first aid skills tend to panic and they are not able to provide the help needed. You need to have confidence with whatever you do as this could help make a big difference in determining whether a patient dies or survives.

You may not know how helpful it is to have the skill unless you are confronted with a situation that needs resuscitation. It is painful to lose the life of a loved family member when you could have done something if you had the training and skill to restore or help the person to breathe. With resuscitation, it helps restore the heartbeat before the medical team arrive.

Before the medical team arrives, you may be able to save the life of the individual. While the resuscitation is available for everyone, it is sad to note that about 70 percent of people feel helpless in acting to provide first aid to patients who have suffered from cardiac arrest because they are either not trained or their training has lapsed and they no longer can be able to provide the steps properly.

The only help that could make the person hold on for long is by performing artificial resuscitation to help in circulation and stop tissue death. In workplaces, employers should consider to have a considerable number of the employees trained on this important skill. It will not only benefit their colleagues at work but also be able to handle the situation when it arises at home.

Moreover, at home, the caregivers and maids or moms should make sure they have this critical skill. It can help save lives, which are otherwise lost. When you take this training, ensure that you can perform it. Do not take this course to just improve your CV but to help people.
