Have A Great Holiday On Coach Tours Around Europe

By Archie Divers

For a vacation with a difference have you considered coach tours around Europe? You might be able to save money whilst still being able to experience the sights and cultures of many different countries. Let this article be your guide so that you are well prepared to start thinking about taking a coach tour to Europe.

Compared with air and rail travel, getting to your destination by coach can save you a lot of money. It is still the least expensive way to travel and you can let someone else worry about which side of the road to drive on!

The savings don't stop at the actual travel cost. Most of coach operators obtain group rates at hotels and at visitor attractions that are included on the tour. All of these lower prices soon mount up leaving you with more spending money for your holiday.

In comparison with the other continents in the world, Europe is relatively small in terms of land area. The countries are also small, particularly in Western Europe, and this makes it ideal for touring by road. It is quite possible to have breakfast, lunch and dinner in three different countries without the bus driver having to break any speed limits!

Europe's relatively small size makes it ideal for touring by coach. There is a diverse range of scenery and cultures within easy reach. For instance the ski resorts in the Italian Dolomites are only a few hours drive from the beauty of Rome. Further west and the tourist can be whisked along the French Riviera to the Costas of Spain within the space of a day. Shearings holidays Lake Como offer a great holiday experience.

Going by road seems to be a slow way when to travel when one considers the speed at which modern aircraft fly. This would be so if the aircraft's speed were the only factor. Unfortunately the security checks and frequent flight delays reduce this apparent advantage that flying seems to possess. A passenger in a tour bus isn't subject to all the frustrating delays inherent in air travel and can be halfway to the first stopover point before the poor air traveller has left the airport lounge.

One area where a tour by bus can beat most other means of travel hands down is convenience. The coach will have an experienced guide on board who will look after hotel reservations, customs clearance and will help with language problems. Most of the time the guide will offer a commentary as the coach passes through particularly interesting spots - an ideal way to learn more about the country.

Travelling by road also allows the tourist to get a better view of all the landscape that they are passing through. Most tours will stop regularly at vantage points where the passengers can stretch their legs and take photographs, buy souvenirs, etc.

Because people are travelling together on the same tour bus for a few days, sharing fresh experiences, many new friendships are formed. This camaraderie is one aspect of bus travel that is usually underrated.

As can be seen from the above paragraphs saving money is not the only reason why you might decide to take a coach tour around Europe. The vast range of destinations and scenery will spoil you for choice and you might need to take more than one tour. This is a feasible option when the costs of other types of holiday are compared.
