A New Pet From Breeders Of Cavachon Puppies

By Marci Nielsen

Cavachon is a mixed breed, a hybrid breed where one parent is Bichon Frise and the other is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Typically, the objective of breeding two different pure bred dogs is to bring out the best characteristics of both breeds. Cavachon puppies are always a mixed breed, whether the puppies are bred from the two purebred breeds, or subsequent generations bred from two Cavachon dogs.

Cross breeding two pure bred dogs is intended to get the best of both breeds in the hybrid litter. Cavachons are hypoallergenic, which means that families with allergies can still enjoy an indoor pet. These dogs shed very little, which also makes them excellent indoor pets. The sizes range from twelve pounds to twenty five pounds with the males tending to be larger than the females. They come in a variety of colors, with coats that may be solid, two colors or even three colors.

Cavachons are friendly, good natured pets. They are currently very popular with families as they tolerate children well. They make intelligent pets who will bark at unidentified noises and people. They are not aggressive towards people, and their bark is only a warning bark to alert the owner that there is something out of the ordinary. Do not count on your Cavashon to be a watchdog. This is not in their nature.

Mixed breeds have the advantage of being less vulnerable to health issues than their pure bred counterparts. Although generally quite healthy, one cause for concern with this mixed breed stems from the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel side of its ancestry. The spaniels have been known to have mitral valve disease, which is very serious. Responsible breeders will do everything in their power to avoid passing along such a trait. Still, it is a good idea to inquire about the health of the parents upon adoption and in future years to see if any negative health issues occur in the parents.

As for the Bichon Frise health, they are known to be a pretty healthy breed. However, on occasion they suffer from diseases of the immune system. This can greatly shorten the life of the pet. A normal life span is fifteen to twenty years, but Bichon Frise with immune system disease may only live four to six years. New owners should be informed about the health of both of its parents.

Kent Oh breeders are responsible, caring breeders who do their best to produce healthy animals that will live a long life. Some breeders take it a step further by preparing their puppies for the day they are adopted. The puppies are trained to go to their crate for napping and sleeping. Consequently, these pets will often sleep six to seven hours through the night. Good news for both you and your new pet. Sleep deprivation does nothing good for the owner or the pet.

The Kent Oh breeders also begin housebreaking their puppies immediately. By the time the puppy is picked up by a new family, the job is almost done. As a new owner, you just need to continue the good habits that have been ingrained in your new pet.

Your puppy will soon become a wonderful addition to your family. There are excellent breeders who will make the transition to your home as seamless as possible. New pets can be like new babies. They take a lot of your time, but the joy they bring into your life makes it time well spent.
