Ways Of Dog Obedience Training San Francisco

By Mattie MacDonald

Dogs are some of the most widely reared animals on earth to date. San Francisco mostly is commonly known for its large dog population. These dogs offer a diverse range of uses depending on the keeper. They can be kept for company reasons, security purposes and also guidance especially of hunters and the blind. In some parts they are also used for transportation. Ways of dog obedience training San Francisco are outlined below.

Obedience training is the art of instructing and teaching dogs the expecting code of conduct. This training can be basic, competitive or even intelligence training. It all depends on the roles that they are expected to play in the society. Obedience means compliance with given instructions accurately. A well trained dog will have no trouble performing their roles as instructed.

An untrained dog however can be such a menace in the society. Just like any other untamed beast, these will steal food, terrorize both people and other animals in the area. Therefore, dog instructing is both important for both peaceful coexistence and effective performance of roles. This instructing is an intensive and systematic procedure that bears fruit gradually.

The process of training a dog in obedience can be quite long depending on the dog itself, the trainer and the module used. It also highly depends on how obedient one intends for the dog to be. In view of this it is best that the instructing starts at the puppy stage of the dog. The first thing is to give the puppy a name. Keep calling it by the name till it learns to respond to the name.

The training gets a little harder after that, as commands are introduced. To start with easy instructions are given. The pet is given ample time to adjust to the changes around it. The most commonly used commands here include sit, stay, come and other commands. This is also the time to introduce the bone reward system. The dog should be rewarded for obedience.

After a while it will have memorized all the commands and responses adequately. At this time, introduction of other more complex commands should be done. Majority of trainers in San Francisco use advanced instructions such as drop, give, stand and attack. These are usually more complex for dogs and they take a little longer to be learnt. This training will depend on the owner though.

It is also of paramount importance that such dogs are trained not only from indoors but also out in the play yard. Involving them in brief cases can enable the trainer to determine the moods of the pet. This is very important for successful instruction. Understanding the dog helps the trainer to relate to it and hence improve its training.

Finally a number of tools have proved quite helpful in this field. These tools enhance on the learning ability of these dogs. Some of them include the collars, leash, clickers and many others. If well trained, a dog should be very helpful in many aspects of life unlike when untrained. Therefore obedience training is a necessity for dogs.
